Fresh flowers, the smell of home cooking, crisp linen and cotton,
family photographs, books and personal belongings the list goes on and on …………………..
Home is where the heart is.
Well I like to think so. The
homes I most like are those that exude the personality of the people who live
there. As I have a number of friends who
are Artists, I am lucky to get the opportunity to visit many of them in their
lovely homes, where often there artistic flair is abundant and I always feel so
inspired by all that I have absorbed during my visit.
I love the mix of vintage with more modern pieces and from
time to time I just have to stop and put some things away, there are just so
many lovely things to have on show, but less is more.
Here is a lovely old Underwood typewriter which currently
sits on top of an old pine cupboard in my study. Although I didn’t use a model quite this old,
it does remind me of my days as Secretary to the Deputy Coroner in a Dickensian
firm of Solicitors during the late 1970’s.
